Sample finding · local demo, no client work

FORM-01: Empty email accepted

Priority: High for a contact form, because an accepted message cannot receive a reply. This priority is illustrative; a client report would assess the actual business workflow.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the deliberately broken local demo contact form.
  2. Leave the email field empty.
  3. Select Submit.

Expected: The form asks for a valid email address and does not report success.

Observed: The page displays Success: message accepted.

Likely repair: Validate the email before accepting the form, both in the browser and on the server that handles real submissions. This demo has no server, so the second part is a recommendation rather than a tested fix.

Evidence

The two screenshots below were captured after an actual click in Chrome on 25 September 2026. The desktop image is cropped to the form from a 1280 × 800 viewport. The mobile image is a 390 px emulated viewport, not an iPhone or Android device.

Scope of this example

The form was written to fail so the report format can be inspected. It has no users, customer data, backend or payment flow. This page demonstrates one reproduced finding and a clear boundary between observation and recommendation; it does not claim a successful client delivery.
